Patrick Lewis offers a unique range of expertise in tax compliance, accounting and real estate consulting which emanates from his 40+ years of in-depth experience in business and partnership taxation and accounting. In addition to his expertise in tax and financial planning, Patrick has indispensable knowledge in the area of federal and state revenue examinations, protests, appeals, and ruling requests, with additional know-how in the tax aspects of governmental housing programs. His expertise is highly-sought after and is a critical asset to property developers, investors, high net worth medical practitioners, and many others in a wide range of industries.

Born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, Patrick studied at the University of Witwatersrand and the University of South Africa while serving his five-year articles program at a public accounting firm where he worked for eight years. Upon his arrival to the U.S., Patrick joined a Beverly Hills accounting firm where he moved up the ranks over the next nine years

In 1995, Patrick joined Altschuler, Melvoin and Glasser, LLP (AM&G), then the 15th largest CPA firm in the nation, in their tax compliance group. Over the next four years, he built his expertise working with clients at this high-profile national firm which was acquired by American Express Tax & Business Services in 1999. In 2004, he was hired as controller for the largest independent group of retail grocers in Southern California, Superior Grocers. In this capacity, his responsibilities included overseeing the financial and operating aspects of the grocery chain’s real estate portfolio, among many other financial duties.

After a year or more, however, he realized that he missed meeting challenges and solving problems for clients in the real estate industry and returned to public accounting as a partner at the firm Kallman and Associates, LLP.

After many years working in local and national firms, Patrick and his mentor, Randy Lawrence, co-founded Lawrence & Lewis, LLP in 2009, providing essential, high-level expertise in tax work and consulting to clients and firms in Southern California as well as nationally.

Patrick is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of CPAs. He is also a longtime member of ProVisors, Sherman Oaks One and a member of ProVisors’ Valley Real Estate Affinity Group.

In his free time, Patrick serves as a mentor to the Boy Scouts of America where, since 2006, he has been an Assistant Scoutmaster with a troop in Reseda, California and an advisor to the Order of the Arrow, a national and exclusive arm of the Boy Scouts of America.
