Patrick Lewis, Partner

Patrick Lewis possesses over 30 years of in-depth experience in business and partnership taxation and accounting with an emphasis in residential and commercial real estate, including national syndications, developments, and property management.

He is an expert in tax and financial planning, and also has extensive knowledge in federal and state revenue examinations, protests, appeals, and ruling requests, as well as in the tax aspects of governmental housing programs. This combination of tax, accounting, and real estate experience makes Patrick a unique and critical asset to a wide variety of clients, including property developers and investors.

Before co-founding Lawrence & Lewis, Patrick was a partner with Kallman and Co LLP. Before joining Kallman, he was the controller for the largest independent group of retail grocers in Southern California, where his responsibilities included, among many other financial duties, overseeing the financial and operating aspects of the real estate portfolio of the grocery chain. Prior to his time in the retail grocery industry, Patrick was a tax manager with Altschuler, Melvoin and Glasser, LLP (AM&G), which at the time was the 15th largest CPA firm in the United States, before being acquired by American Express Tax & Business Services. Prior to AM&G, Patrick, who is from South Africa, started his U.S. career at a Beverly Hills accounting firm and worked there for nine years.

Patrick is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and California Society of CPAs. Patrick also has been heavily involved with the Boy Scouts of America since 2006; he currently is an Assistant Scoutmaster with a troop in Reseda, CA. Patrick studied in South Africa at the University of Witwatersrand and the University of South Africa, and worked in public accounting for eight years in South Africa before moving to the United States.
